Victims: Robert B. Andrews and Leonard “James” Ebrey

Suspect: Bryce V. Andrews

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the deaths of Robert Andrews and Leonard “James” Ebrey. At approximately 6:04am, deputies responded to a residential fire in the 2300 block of Wedgewood Dr, Alton, IL. Firefighters located Robert Andrews (age 59) and Leonard “James” Ebrey (age 67) both deceased inside the residence. When detectives began investigating, they were able to determine both men died from homicidal means.

As a result of this investigation, Robert Andrews’ adopted son, Bryce Andrews (age 22), was issued the following criminal charges in Andrews’ and Ebrey’s deaths:

  • 1st Degree Murder

  • Aggravated Arson

  • Offenses Relating to Motor Vehicles

  • Concealment of Homicidal Death

Bryce Andrews’ bond was set at $1,000,000.
