The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Damonta Mosley (age 18). At approximately 7:19pm, deputies responded to the 2400 block of Renois Lane in unincorporated Cahokia Heights for a report of a shooting. There they located Damonta who had been shot inside a vehicle. He was taken to a St. Louis hospital where he died from his injuries.
As a result of this investigation, David Hodges (age 19) was charged with 1st Degree Murder in Damonta’s death.
